The Phantom of Penn Station - Mike Monahan - Bog

Bag om The Phantom of Penn Station

A serial killer is on the loose and hiding in the abandoned tunnels and catacombs beneath New York's iconic Penn Station. Women are not safe waiting for trains on dark platforms late at night. It's Christmas week and several women have been reported missing. Local newspapers have dubbed the felon, The Phantom. NYPD Detective Mick O'Shaughnessy has been tasked with hunting down the Phantom. Micko must go undercover as a vagrant and infiltrate the complex societies of homeless communities living underground. The spider web of long forgotten train stations and track tunnels run ten stories underground, stretching west from the Hudson River, and east to the East River, from the southern tip of Manhattan north to the Bronx. Danger lurks in every maze of passages, dilapidated aqueduct systems, power rooms, and ancient coves. The Metropolitan Transit Authority subway trains use an electric third rail that carries 600 volts of paralyzing death. Automated train tracks switch directions without warning. Micko must search the live rails as well as the abandoned subway and freight stations far below the surface of the bustling Manhattan streets. He must encounter the homeless, the depraved psychopaths, and criminals in hiding, the Mole People, runaways, crack addicts, and a host of subhuman Skells. Working alone, undercover, Micko must rely on help from the Mole People to find the Phantom. The Phantom of Penn Station will take the reader on a historical tour of the underbelly of New York City and the dangers that lie below.
