When I began my journey 42 years ago, there was no internet. Everything I learned about bodybuilding and weight training came from reading muscle magazines and any books I could lay my hands on, personal experimentation and listening to the experiences of others. With the advent of the internet and literally unlimited amounts of information at our fingertips, sadly, very little has changed. The more things change, the more they stay the same actually. This is not your basic "how to" guide to exercising. The Reach for the Ring assumes a fundamental understanding of weight training, bodybuilding, etc. I will not be covering basic terminology like sets and reps nor will I be covering most exercises and their proper performance. There are a plethora of books and internet websites that already cover those topics in far greater detail and much more eloquently than I could ever hope to.
