Bag om The Scurrying Sun
What do you get when you mix a heaping teaspoon of a "Fairy trapped with somewhere to be," a dash of a "Grizzled old man that could return at any moment," and a sprinkle of a "War between a gang of ladybugs and an Irish Wolfhound?" A recipe for a grand ol' time!
The fairy, Sidhe, is trapped in a human's den after an untimely run-in with a brick-brained gargoyle on the way to see her sister, Aven, for the last time. With a set of torn wings on her back, and an amateur's grasp on "clever thinking," Sidhe sets out on an adventure to escape, back to the forest, before the sun reaches its apex and she misses her last chance to say "I'm sorry," all the while avoiding an Irish Wolfhound and its master, and maybe, learning a thing or two about herself along the way.
"The Scurrying Sun" is a fantasy story about overcoming grief with a few laughs on the way. A story, both silly and sentimental, that'll bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.
When you're the size of two acorns wrapped in a trench coat, even the tiniest of adventures feel enormous.
The debut novella of author and illustrator, Zaeem Farooqi.
