After ten years away, Aluna returns home a grown woman. She reconnects with Antonio, though he is now to marry another woman. Aluna's old adversary - Miguel di Batista - has returned from the New World, bringing with him a cargo of slaves. Miguel has one of the old women burned as a witch.
