Tove Ditlevsen er en af 1900 tallets storslåede danske lyrikere, hun er født d. 14 december 1917 på Vesterbro, København. Hendes debut kom i 1937 ‘Til mit døde barn’ et digt, udgivet i tidsskriftet ‘Vild hvede’ og hedder nu ‘Hvedekorn’. Hendes første debut i bogform kom af digtet ‘Pigesind’ i 1939, efterfulgt af hendes gennembrud i 1941 med ‘Man gjorde et barn fortræd’ som en roman. Hun er bedst kendt for hendes værk fra 1943 med romanen ‘Barndommens gade’. Tove Ditlevsen er en anerkendt forfatter, og har en række af litteraturpriser som: Emil Aarestrup Medaillen 1954, de gyldne laurbær 1956, kulturministeriets børnebogspris 1959 og søren gyldendal prisen i 1971.Hun er sidst anerkendt med en pris i 2020. Tove ditlevsen døde i 1976, fortællingerne om hendes liv, gnister stadig og det samme gør hun igennem, hendes historier om sårbarheden i sin barndom.
