Wing Chun Kung Fu: "Roots" and "Evolution" - José Manuel Bezanilla - Bog

Bag om Wing Chun Kung Fu: "Roots" and "Evolution"

In this text I approach in a systematic and scientifically based way the "roots" of Wing Chun Kung Fu. In the first part I explore the founding myths, as well as their symbolic importance, to later make a first approach to the historical process of foundation, conformation, development and diffusion of the system, starting from the Ming dynasty until the first half of the 20th century. It is said that Wing Chun Kung Fu is going through a deep technical crisis, so in the third chapter I explore some of the most important criticisms that have been made to the system, dismantling those that are unfounded and retaking to improve those that are accurate. Always when we face a crisis it is of vital importance to return to the "roots", hence in the fourth chapter I return to some of the most important statements left by Ip Man in the interview he was given in 1972 just a few months before his death; these statements are contrasted against the text of General Qi Jiguang of 1560, the "Shaolin Canon of Short Strike" of 1784 and the Kuen Kuit of the Siu Lim Tao form of the nineteenth century.
