Bag om WWII Memoir: My World War Two Story in 3 parts
Back in WWII, 20 year old solders had a different mindset. They were never hesitant, seldom afraid, always eager to test themselves, whether it was with a new place or a new woman, (or a new drink). Most WWII veterans came home, discharged around late 1945. They found a country in a changing mood, struggling to get back to normalcy. Robert was among the few soldiers, getting ready for discharge, who was able to re-enlist; thus waiting for the mainline mad house to quiet down, and the GI Bill to be put in place. He had gone through the China Campaign and was excited about re-enlisting for more adventures. Not since "From here to Eternity" has a book been published that attempted to show how these young men, ("kids" not so long ago), handled the jobs they were asked to do. Four young soldiers embark on what they thought would be a great adventure. Grow along with these kids, as they become young men, become adults.
