Bag om Beauty of Nature as Seen Through the Word The Sermons of Reverend Hugh Macmillan, 1833-1903 Volume I - Including the Lord's Prayer Essay Compilation and Introduction by Diana Hansen

Reverend Hugh Macmillan was a 19th century Scottish pastor who lived from 1833 to 1903. Aside from his pastoral vocation, Macmillan also seems to have had a deep love and knowledge of botany, geology, geography, and the spiritual nature of human beings. He has several published books, such as Bible Teachings in Nature, The Christmas Rose & Other Thoughts in Verse, The Olive Leaf, and The Sabbath of the Fields: Being a Sequel to Bible Teachings in Nature, all of which show the connection between the nature of earth and its people, and their shared creation by God. In addition, Reverend Macmillan also wrote 200 sermons which are now in the public domain. These are scripture-referenced essays on the precise configuration of every thing in nature, including our natural environment and our human selves. Everything is interconnected and coordinated; nothing is ever lost in its entirety. Every one of God's creations has a purpose, from the precise borders of a natural tideline to the beauty of a flower. Nothing is random. And neither are we, as God's creations in His purposed world. Macmillan's insights into the continuing human life cycle offer a warm understanding and a hopeful uplift to those who read these sermons. Ms. Hansen has brought these 200 Macmillan sermons into print to share with readers a knowledge of the total coordination of the earth's and human beings' creation, and of the love and omnipotence of our Lord God, the Creator. Ms. Hansen holds a Master of Arts degree in English from New York University, and is continuing her studies into the scriptural and worldly interface of human beings.
