Globally cerebrovascular disease (stroke) is the second most important cause of death(WHO, 2008). The word "stroke" itself depicts the manner in which this disorder oftenoccurs to a person. As aptly noted by Stein (2004), a person who is dynamic andindependent person is "struck down" (p.1). Stroke is an abrupt, life-changing incidentthat often gives no caution of its approach. Almost every survivor of stroke has beencaught unaware and it has changed the life of the survivor forever. Duncan,Blankenship, & Bitensky (2009) have noted that stroke can lead to a range ofneurological impairments and medical problems. They have added that constraints inactivities of daily living (ADLs) and reduced quality of life (QoL) are other majoroutcomes of stroke. Based on the progress in the diagnosis, treatment and therapies forstroke in the present day from the time when its occurrence was related to theHippocratic concept of disparity in the "humours", it can be argued that knowledgeabout stroke has come a long way (Edlow, 2008).Stroke has been defined by WHO (2005b) as a "focal (or at times global) neurologicalimpairment of sudden onset, and lasting more than 24 hours (or leading to death), andof presumed vascular origin (p.4)". As per this definition; stroke has its genesis in thevascular system referring to the blood vessels of the body, it occurs rapidly and lasts fora time period of more than twenty hours. Injury of the nervous tissues and even death ofthe patient has been reportede3 in many cases. A stroke or brain attack occurs whencells in the brain die due to insufficient flow of blood. While 80 per cent of the strokesare caused by the blockage of an artery in the neck or brain; the rest are caused by aburst blood vessel in the brain that causes bleeding into or around the brain.
An instance of epistemic circularity occurs when your justification for thinking that something is a justification source comes from that source. For example, suppose I try to convince you that the testimony of a particular mystic guru provides justification. The reason why that claim is justified (I might argue) is that the guru himself said it; and since his testimony provides justification, the claim is justified! Suppose also that I rely on no other evidence. It is not as if I am testing what he says against an independent source. I am relying on the guru's testimony to justify the claim that it is a source of justification
The title of this essay is likely to make it sound as though the following is going to be another one of those self-help 'how to' books that we are nowadays bombarded with in bookshops. And in a way that's what it is - only worse, since the author obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. For isn't this supposed to be philosophy? Yet surely the body of this essay couldn't even be close to whatever the author is going to tell us would be the written equivalent to Socratic philosophising (I don't see any dialogues)? Or, if that is what he intends to make us believe, then how boring it looks; just another useless theory. However, if this is not what he is going to say, then again it seems that the author doesn't know what he is talking (or writing) about.-Or could there be a difference between kinds of philosophy, or different ways of writing philosophy?
Teacher education in India has a long history. Since the ancient period, it has been a major part of the education system. Teacher is the real social architect who can really shape the destiny of the nation. Emphasizing the importance of teacher, the National Policy on Education (1986) states, 'the status of the teacher reflects the socio-cultural ethos of the society; it is said that no people can rise above the level of its teachers'. This statement indicates the vital role of the teacher in shaping the fate of the nation and rebuilding the society by educating the young minds. The teacher education is facing a number of issues and challenges. In the present context the expectation of the community from the teacher has been multiplied, teacher -student relationship is far more complex and the government is formulating new policies and finding new norms and standards for teachers. This compels the teachers to play a dynamic role and equip themselves with the latest knowledge and skills to meet the emerging challenges. Over the last half a century and particularly in the recent decades teaching learning has been undergoing drastic changes. The process of teaching-learning is tuned with innovation and emphasis has shifted from teacher-centred, lecture-based instructions to student-centred interactive learning environments. Teacher has to generate new knowledge among students by employing a variety of technology tools and innovative pedagogies in teaching to satisfy diverse needs of different categories of students effectively. Inclusive education is an innovative step towards quality education and assists in developing each child fully and helps in universalisation of education. Teachers are required to be trained in inclusive practices. Quality education largely depends upon the quality of teacher and the quality of teacher can be enhanced through continuous professional development programmes. Life skills education has major role in shaping teacher's personality. Training of life skills education will surely enable the teachers to play their multifarious roles in school, home and society most effectively. The role of teacher for sustainable development of the nation is complex and nuanced.Teachers are considered to be the change agents to put into action the sustainable development goals. Present society needs effective, reflective, and creative teachers who can participate in the improvement of the whole educational process. Future teachers need to be value oriented, enlightened, and empowered to lead communities and nations in their march towards better and higher quality of life. The teachers having a futuristic vision can only lead the society towards an egalitarian one.Keeping in view the above points, the present book has been conceptualized. The book consists of seventeen chapters covering various aspects and prospects of teacher education. I hope this book will serve as reference book and fulfil the needs of the students, teachers, policy makers and researchers in the field of education.
This book deals with behavioral responses of management of firms that make several decisions with respect to production, marketing, finance, organization of activities within divisions, and interrelations between divisions (including synergies between them and constraints placed on each other in the attainment of overall goals of the firm). The market conditions, that constitute the basis of such decisions, may be stable, random but predictable, or uncertain. It can be expected that objectives attained by the firm, as a result of decisions of management, may be different from the maximum which can be achieved. A generic conceptualization of such managerial discretion and operationally useful methods of measurement have been presented. It is possible to develop machine learning algorithms on this basis to minimize managerial discretion and assist managers in arriving at strategic decisions thereby leaving more resources to deal with uncertain events as they arise. Me and my wife Jeannine are buying our house and we have a new f-150 truck but I believe we live in poverty according U.S. standards. In 2020 we decided we are going to work our way out of poverty. In 2021 God gave me an idea to write this book. I've never written a book before in my life. I believe we all have gifts, talents, and strengths inside of us all that we don't know we have. But we have to be obedient as to what God tells us and step out of the boat. God's plans for us are better than our plans.

The main purpose of this study is to determine the impact of alternative delivery mode module as intervention material in students academic achievement in Araling Panlipunan 9 in Bulihan Integrated National High School. The participants of the study were thirty selected grade 9 students in the online delivery modality subject to intervention program. This study was primarily quantitative research which the data gathered were tallied, tabulated, analyzed using the weighted mean, standard deviation, and mean difference. The t-test was used to determine the significant differences between the pretest and posttest scores.The study recommends to use Alternative Delivery Mode modules as an intervention materials to further enhance academic achievements of the students in online delivery modality. Encourage administrators, supervisors, and teachers to design, develop, evaluate Alternative Delivery Mode modules in all subject areas for the purpose of an intervention program. The technical assistance, workshops, trainings, and seminars should give to the persons involved in the implementation of intervention programs using Alternative Delivery Mode modules as an intervention material.
