Turaki does a scholarly work in developing moral laws based on creation and the God of creation. He argues for an inter-relationship between the moral laws and ethics that would derive from the observance of creation through natural science, and that which derives from God. This according to him is based on the inter-relationship that already exists between the God of creation and creation.Given that humanity is the creation of God, the moral laws and ethics that are derived from God and His creation must be universally applicable to all humanity.Turaki further argues that the moral laws and ethics that are derived from biblical revelation are the absolutes by which all other laws derived from other religions, natural science and common sense are judged.Turaki does not make these claims without serious academic wrestling with various perspectives on the subject both philosophically and theologically. His approach provides useful information for the systematic theologian as he treats each relevant subject both descriptively and critically. In a postmodern age where relativity and corresponding subjectivity has become the new absolute, this work is a welcome challenge, calling us to rethink the popular assumptions of our time and revisit the subject of morality and ethics from a theistic perspective. The Christ of God claims to be truth and life. His followers should therefore define moral laws and ethics based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. They should also be evangelistic about the necessity of an absolute as a standard for evaluating all moral laws and ethics. This is the good work Turaki has done as a follower of Jesus Christ. His work is an invitation to consider the character of God as the absolute by which all moral laws and ethics should be evaluated.I am personally grateful to him. I believe you will share my gratitude after reading this book. This work should be seen as a contribution to the conversation. I invite you to join the discussion after reading Universal Moral Laws.Rev.Dr. Delah AdadevoUSAMarch 2019

This book brings together 18 theoretical and empirical chapters that analyse the role of emotion (expression, perception, processing) and identity (notions and representations, construction, conflict) in the process of learning a second language. Studies on the differences in emotionality between L1 and L2 suggest that in L2 there is an alteration that, in many cases, manifests itself as a decrease in the affective load, which can lead to a certain indifference to the emotional content transmitted and to a lesser involvement in communication. It is also known that emotion plays a fundamental role in the construction of identity in a second language in the shaping of the self that feels and communicates and in the ability to cope with the learning process. Most of the studies have focused on the understanding of these issues in balanced bilingual speakers, but there is little evidence on their functioning in speakers with other degrees of proficiency (the case of second language learners) and on their role in the learning process. Better understanding this question is fundamental for the improvement of everything related to second language acquisition. We need new and innovative approaches that lead to more effective programs, increased interest in language learning and the consolidation of multilingual societies.

Among Angela Carter's assortment of essays, novels, and short stories, critics have heralded The Bloody Chamber as a collection that is often resistant to patriarchal power while also indulging in both the macabre, and the opulent. Furthermore, the collection itself is often described as a space that, "deliberately defeats the reader's expectations by emancipating women's bodies from attributions of cultural shame, empowering women characters with independence and agency, and bitterly denouncing the arrogant cruelty of human predators" (Henke 48). Despite being touted as a feminist, Carter also received heavy backlash, as she eventually confessed that her short stories were often riddled with too much violence. In 1969, Carter won the Somerset Maugham award, and afterwards, lived in Japan for three years. As an expatriate, she studied Japanese manga and anime, with a focus on the masochism and sadism embedded within the comics (Barker 2). These observations and themes of masochism and sadism eventually threaded into her own fiction, and have roused interest and critique within several feminist communities.

The literal definition of congruence is, "agreement or harmony; compatibility". The purpose of this manual is to help children, teens, and adults learn and practice the skills to foster living in congruence with the self. True congruence with the self is when there is harmony between the heart, mind, and body. When all things are working congruently there is a level of inner awareness and self - confidence that is formed. Living in congruence produces the feeling of "living in the zone", "living in the flow".Learning to live in congruence with one's self has proven to decrease anxiety, promotes emotional self-regulation, improve moods, enhances effective communication, fosters emotional intelligence (motivation, empathy, self-awareness, social skills, and self-reflection), and provides a sense of balance and inner peace to the individual. The exercises outlined in this manual are targeted to enhance awareness of breath, body sensations, thoughts, feelings, behavior, and to foster shaping positively intended core beliefs. Research has supported that teaching children and adolescents the skills outlined in this curriculum and by practicing these skills daily; academic performance improves, anxiety among students decreases, overall moods improve, bully - like behaviors decrease, attentiveness and concentration increases, resiliency improves, students demonstrate an enhanced ability to manage stress, the use of effective communication styles are enhanced, students are more self - aware of themselves and others, and the ability to self - regulate emotions improve. Furthermore, learning and practicing these skills has demonstrated a positive effect on stimulation to certain parts of the brain (evidenced by functional M.R.I's and observations) that are responsible for emotional self-regulation, impulse control, attention, and appropriate social development. Building and maintaining a congruent relationship between the heart and brain supports living in harmony with ones self and enhances that ability to trust their intuition.
