This Manual provides three 'roadmaps' and associated detailed step-by-step notes for the separate disciplines of 'Environmental', 'Social' and 'Governance' management. The material sets out key practical ESG tasks for business organisations. It should be read with the associated management book "ESG - Making the Connection" which is freely available in downloadable format from our associated website: esgnow.org.uk where individual chapters can be downloaded in PDF format. The only elements not available for download are in this printed Manual. The Manual provides a hard copy of the book's three key roadmaps - one for 'E' (environmental) one for 'S' (social) and one for 'G' (governance), plus explanatory notes. The roadmaps are provided here as chapters 11, 14 and 17. The associated explanatory notes are here, as chapters 12, 15 and 18. You may want to return to esgnow.org.uk from time to time as the chapters may be revised and there are useful links and regular topical updates. We wish you well on your ESG journey.

We have entered a new era where business, technologies, communities, and even pandemic deceases cross borders with unprecedented speed and intensity. 2030 Agenda and 17 SDGs reflect the global community's high expectations of finally reversing the destruction of our natural and social habits, and achieving a more balanced and equitable pathways toward well-being of all. However, despite the initial efforts, the world is not on track to achieving the most of the 169 targets that comprise the goals. It is evident that we have a system problem, so we need a system solution. Authors presented a hierarchical system consisting of two-level management systems: first level¿unsustainability reduction systems and second level¿control system for transformations toward sustainability. The book clearly shows that implementation of systems for unsustainability reduction and for transformations toward sustainability is possible, and that sufficient knowledge is available to get started. It is designed for researchers, practitioners, and politicians.
COVID-19 has demanded management innovations across all sectors. As urban systems are made more sustainable, and our focus shifts towards the Circular Economy, this timely book sheds new light on emerging issues.
This book seeks to revise and challenge the roles and traditional realms of influence that national and local governments, and businesses at a critical juncture in terms of achieving sustainable development, faces when tackling the dual challenges of climate change and post-COVID recovery. Using the broader lens of the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to assess the roles and responsibilities of each of these stakeholders and their relationships, the book offers policy, economic arguments, case studies and examples to argue that neither national or local governments, nor companies, could afford to deviate from the SDGs in the recovery from the current crisis, nor that the imperative of bold climate action should detract from the broader focus on sustainability. The analysis frames the debate of how a balance between people, planet, and profits can be achieved and how nations, regions and cities, and businesses, with their representative organizations, can achieve a sustainable recovery from the current global crisis, and contribute to climate smart, resilient and inclusive development.
This book discusses the attributes of inclusive business by engaging people (customers and stakeholders) in creating social and customer values and enhancing business growth among customer-centric companies. Corporate policy and implications of the inclusiveness in businesses on social development constitute the core discussion in this book. Inclusivity concepts and arguments are endorsed by case studies across the developing economies. Philosophy and practices of inclusive business through theoretical foundations, design arguments, and managerial analysis has been discussed across five chapters.Discussion on the success of inclusive businesses in the context of innovation, technology, and new product development which motivated people-led companies to adapt to agile business modeling and drive co-creation and coevolution initiatives are central to this book.
