This book is NOT written by a Harvard MBA. This book is written by someone who has actually owned and managed businesses for 30 years. In other words, been there, done that. I have read many books on developing your business, how to grow your business, how to succeed in business, how to start a business, how to finance a business --- and none of them tell you what NOT to do. Over the years I have had my disasters and successes, the lessons learned the hard way (why is it always like that?) and I learned what to do AFTER you screw something up or AFTER something screws you up (or AFTER someone screws you up!) I felt that without having the knowledge of what NOT to do, you're only getting half the story, so I'm going to give you my best shot of the errors that I have seen and the mistakes which I have made, hopefully in order that you may avoid those same pitfalls yourself. As I said, it's not just what you do right that helps you to succeed in business. It's avoiding those things that are pre-destined to turn out badly. I hope that this book is going to give you the ability to save yourself some pain and the derailing that will take your train off the track. Here is another thing: I make myself available to help you with some of your most difficult problems to give you the perspective of an outside opinion.

Warnings is the story of the future of national security, threatening technologies, the U.S. economy, and possibly the fate of civilization. In Greek mythology Cassandra foresaw calamities, but was cursed by the gods to be ignored. Modern-day Cassandras clearly predicted the disasters of Katrina, Fukushima, the Great Recession, the rise of ISIS, and many more. Like the mythological Cassandra, they were ignored. There are others right now warning of impending disasters, but how do we know which warnings are likely to be right? Through riveting explorations in a variety of fields, the authors?both accomplished CEOs and White House National Security Council veterans?discover a method to separate the accurate Cassandras from the crazy doomsayers. They then investigate the experts who today are warning of future disasters: the threats from artificial intelligence, bio-hacking, mutating viruses, and more, and whose calls are not being heeded. Clarke's and Eddy's penetrating insights are essential for any person, any business, or any government that doesn't want to be a blind victim of tomorrow's catastrophe.
As a child, Sarah Robb O'Hagan felt destined to become a champion, but her early efforts at sports, in school, and in music failed to reveal a natural superstar. Unwilling to settle for average, she learned through a series of dramatic successes and epic failures to follow her own extremely personal path to success.Sarah climbed the corporate ladder at Virgin Atlantic, Nike, Gatorade, and Equinox?also becoming a wife, mother, and endurance athlete-?and though in her twenties she was fired twice, in her thirties she led the turnaround of a $5 billion Gatorade sports drink business. Her approach has stemmed from personal experience and inspiration from the band of highly accomplished ?Extremers? she met along the way: entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, TV personalities, an Olympic champion downhill skier, a former secretary of state, and even a world-famous tattoo artist. These Extremers helped her recognize that success doesn't come from conforming, hiding weaknesses, or reaching some preplanned destination. Instead, the Extreme You approach is to continuously develop yourself?warts and all?to the max, and to tap your true potential and find your own greatness. In every challenging situation, personal or professional, we feel pressure to conform to accepted norms. But doing so comes with heavy costs: passions stifled, talents ignored, and opportunities squelched. The bolder choice is to embrace Extreme You: to bring all that is distinctive and relevant about yourself to everything you do, and to bring out the Extreme in the people and the culture around you.Inspiring, practical, and laugh-out-loud funny, Extreme You is Sarah's training program for developing the drive, originality, and fierce attitude to become the best version of you.

Any organizations must need resources to be provided in order to suppky for their organizational development. However, resouces may include human resources, equipment facilities resources , earth natural resource e.g. land, water wood, gas et. building material resources, even working time resources , technological etc. different kinds of resources. Thus, it seems that any organizations must need some resources to help their organizational daily operation in success. The question concerns what the best resources used strategies to be achieve the most efficiency or the best performance to be organizational development. How can business apply right or reasonable science management principle to manage that businesses effectively and efficiently in order to achieve sale and profit raising aim in the least resource suitation? Otherwise, applying wrong or unreasonable science management principle , it can bring what disadvantages or negative impacts to the businesses. IN my this chapter, I shall attempt to indicate above questions . Readers can have more clear view whether why the kinds of science resource management methods are not suitable to be applied to the kind of organizations to bring negative impact consequences.

This text is an introduction to Operations Management. Three themes are woven throughout the book: optimization or trying to do the best we can, managing tradeoffs between conflicting objectives, and dealing with uncertainty. After a brief introduction, the text reviews the fundamentals of probability including commonly used discrete and continuous distributions and functions of a random variable. The next major section, beginning in Chapter 7, examines optimization. The key fundamentals of optimization-inputs, decision variables, objective(s), and constraints-are introduced. Optimization is applied to linear regression, basic inventory modeling, and the newsvendor problem, which incorporates uncertain demand. Linear programming is then introduced. We show that the newsvendor problem can be cast as a network flow linear programming problem. Linear programming is then applied to the problem of redistributing empty rental vehicles (e.g., bicycles) at the end of a day and the problem of assigning students to seminars. Several chapters deal with location models as examples of both simple optimization problems and integer programming problems. The next major section focuses on queueing theory including single-and multi-server queues. This section also introduces a numerical method for solving for key performance metrics for a common class of queueing problems as well as simulation modeling. Finally, the text ends with a discussion of decision theory that again integrates notions of optimization, tradeoffs, and uncertainty analysis. The text is designed for anyone with a modest mathematical background. As such, it should be readily accessible to engineering students, economics, statistics, and mathematics majors, as well as many business students.
