Bøn og bønnebøger

Søren Kierkegaards bønner, omkring 100 i alt, foreligger ikke som en enhed, men er spredt ud over forfatterskabets opbyggelige taler og dagbøgernes mange tusinde sider, hvor de længe har levet en temmelig upåagtet tilværelse. Nogle af bønnerne i dagbøgerne har skitsens lidt henkastede karakter, andre er tydeligvis personlige, hvis ikke private, mens andre igen formentlig ikke har været tænkt som bønner, men alligevel har taget bønnens retning og fået dens form i løbet af skriveprocessen. Kierkegaard påstod ikke ligefrem, at bønnen var et religiøst instinkt, men han gik dog så vidt som til at hævde, at bønnen er lige så livsnødvendig som vort åndedræt, en forestilling, der i øvrigt skriver sig langt tilbage i kristendommens historie. Han var sig yderst bevidst, at Gud var uforanderlig, men at den bedende via denne intime kontakt kunne forandre sig. I den forstand foregriber han det moderne psykologiske jeg, som i en terapeutisk situation møder sig selv. Men samtidig er bønnen noget andet og mere end selvterapi og meditation. "Længslen er din gave" er første samlede udgivelse af Kierkegaards bønner. Bogen er inddelt i temaer og forsynes med et introducerende essay af Joakim Garff, leder af Søren Kierkegaard Forskningscenteret. Værket gennemillustreres af kunstneren Sys Hindsbo.OM FORFATTERENJoakim Garff (f. 1960) er teolog, ph.d., leder af Søren Kierkegaard Forskningscenteret. I 2000 udgav han den prisbelønnede bestseller SAK, som udkom verden over. Siden har han bl.a. skrevet en biografi om Søren Kierkegaards forlovede, Regine Olsen.
