When we lose someone by their own choosing, we are left wondering, why? How does one get to that point? What would have made the difference? Is there anything I could have done to stop it? What can I do to help someone who is addicted?Prime Threat - Shattering the Power of Addiction is a remarkable, unforgettable, thought-provoking book. Peck shares the story of her son, Jay, who died of a drug overdose. Their story is not unique in today's world with so many drug-induced deaths, but it is an insightful story with the hope of what we can do to live without addictions and not end up losing our life to them. From the other side of the veil, Jay reveals how he got to where he did through lifetimes of addiction. Jay shares what he is learning and doing to have a better chance of clearing his addictions when he incarnates again. Once we understand that addiction is the energy we create, we can learn how to shatter its hold on us and live the life we were meant to live-a life of love and happiness. Is living without addiction possible? ABSOLUTELY!

American Narcan is a passionate call to arms against a death storm sweeping across the Americas; touching every family, every class, every city and every news department like in an old testament biblical plague. Everybody knows somebody that has died from an overdose. We do not know the real number of heroin and opioid deaths in America. Hospitals are paralyzed. Medical schools are out of touch. Our lawmakers are passing laws that are five years too late about prescription opioids. Heroin and Fentanyl are changing the landscape forever. When local police save more lives than doctors we should be ashamed. 1,000,000 providers practice in America but less than 1 % understand naloxone is the answer to heroin. Doctors are ill equipped and inaccurately trained. Menacing stigma abounds. This is the first readable, brisk and brilliant book in America on Naloxone as treatment for everybody in America. Parents, sons, daughters, educators and physicians have a map to survive this brutal journey out of hell. Readers must rethink who a first responders is today. Naloxone must be in every home in America. The importance of a thing is obvious - Res Ipsa Locqitur. Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, addiction educator, toxicologist, TV guest, whistle blower and rogue Dr. William Morrone has simply compiled and translated vital data that was previously fragmented. American Narcan is written without a committee from ground zero. American Narcan is about naloxone. Naloxone stops death. Naloxone stops heroin. American Narcan is written for Mothers, medical students and public health advocates. American Narcan is the first naloxone book in America and the only book you need.

In his first poetry collection, Robert Eric Shoemaker delves deeply into the darkest haven, a rift filled with addictions of harmful and placid varieties many are familiar with. Over the course of a month the writer's attempts to remain sober and clean of all contaminants demonstrate an on-going internal battle, studded with triumphs and failures, moments of insight and moments of pain. Shoemaker's language brims with the electrical quality of one on the edge, living as best one can under societal and artistic pressures, as well as personal demons. Shoemaker's story and poetic voice are empathetic to the plight of multitudes. A guided journey through the 12 Step process. A Principle of Recovery is a look at sobriety through the eyes and heart of Jack Grisham--lead singer of the punk band T.S.O.L., and the author of 'An American Demon'. Grisham has been clean and sober since January 8th, 1989. This book cuts through the myths and misconceptions of what it is to live in recovery and gives us a glimpse into the freedom that being sober can bring. An agnostic libertarian Grisham challenges some of the "cult" like practices in today's groups and encourages you to think for yourself, live without fear, and tap the resource of power that resides within us all. Warning, this book is dangerous to those who enjoy being sheep.
The Missing Link provides an in-depth view into the experience and understanding of addictive behaviors, while bringing about solutions for transformation into wholeness through a mindful dismantling and rebuilding of one's inner framework. The personal tools that are required for effective "processing" are presented, along with mindful practices for greater personal understanding, discovery, growth, and inner healing.
"Resentment is the number one offender. It destroys more alcoholics (and addicts) than anything else." Quoted from Alcoholics Anonymous (The Big Book), page 65. In quotes from the author. I have been working in addiction treatment for the past 14 years and I have seen many alcoholics and addicts who were unable to maintain their sobriety because they were still carrying resentments. Many of the best evidence based treatment methods were tried, but the one that appears to help heal resentments the fastest was forgiveness. Over these 14 years, I have been developing a simple yet powerful new therapeutic approach to use the awesome power of forgiveness that resides in all of us to heal our resentments. This approach was refined from working with thousands of clients and is now available for you in this easy to use workbook. In the workbook you will first learn and be able to identify what your resentments are and where they came from. This can be a very painful process, especially if they came from your parents. Second, you will be instructed how to identify, on a feelings list, exactly what the resentments are that have been fueling your drinking or drug use. Third, you will be instructed how to write a simple forgiveness prayer. The fourth part is all up to you and that is to repeat the prayer multiple times a day until your resentments are gone. How long does this take, you may ask? I have seen healing happen in one saying of the prayer. These incidents have truly been miracles. More commonly, a person repeating the prayer twice daily has shown marked improvements in 2 to 3 weeks. The good news is that you don't have to say this prayer forever. Your resentments can be healed by this straightforward simple work. And it is work to forgive. Last but not least is a forgiveness test to see if you have completely forgiven the offender. I, Wayne Kauppila, the author of this workbook have used this method to heal the resentments that I had for my abusive parents and the resentments I had from my wife of 31 years leaving me for another man. I can truly say that I am happy, joyous and free. Forgiveness has also contributed greatly to my 20+ years of sobriety in the 12 Step fellowship. I hope that you may also find this type of freedom in your sobriety. Peace and Love, Wayne Kauppila

This novel is like no other book about addiction and recovery. It has metaphors to help you better understand addiction, how it grows deeper, and a revolutionary outlet for recovery: Adding Addiction. This book was truly written by the addict, for the addict. Adding Addiction thoroughly explains the characteristics of addiction that are typically overlooked such as: how addiction truly starts; how an addict compares and justifies to deepen their addiction; and how an addict develops a careless and egotistical mindset before hitting a "rock-bottom." Mr. Korer shares his personal story of addiction and explores the nearly-fatal consequence for the dark path he was living for half a decade. He digs deep into his overdose that occurred on April 16, 2012, and resulted in a lengthy coma, a week in the ICU, and the professional opinion that he would not recover...
