The cat photoshops in this book have mostly been done from my iPhone in free apps. I do have a degree in Graphic Design, skilled in Photoshop, but the intent was never to make this actual artwork. Some shops are bad, quick and all are super cheesy. So cheesy. I stumbled across this group on Facebook awhile ago of cat lovers who make funny photoshops of their pets. A cat mom or dad will volunteer a photo of their fur baby and let us designers have a go at it. Sorry kitties, it's all their fault what happened to you. So to the art critics out there, this was all for fun. A five minute quick edit on an app on my phone. And viola a hilarious image of your favorite feline to share on social media. My intent was never to publish them, but while I was backing up my laptop I realized I had hundreds of these little gems! Well I couldn't not let these go to waste. I had to share them with the world! In October of 2021 Callie, my crazy Calico cat passed away from cancer. This group was one of the bright spots in my day. It is literally the only group on social media where there is no fighting, no politics, no nonsense just happy people sharing their feline friends. It makes me literally laugh out loud every time I look at the group and warms my heart to see other crazy cats living their best lives. So have fun and I hope you enjoy these photoshops as much as I did creating them. They are all my shops besides the dedication page that the admin of the FB group did, Helen Yang, which I greatly appreciate. For the famous people appearing in this book, I hope everyone knows this is all for fun, don't be a Karen. All proceeds coming from the sales of this book, I am donating back to a shelter or non-profit to help save kitties and find them forever homes. Adopt today.
Everything that you ever wanted to know about Maine's state cat, America's first native breed, which teetered on the edge of oblivion at one point in the past.
There are many stray cats many neighborhoods across the United States. One kind person took the time to befriended this kitty and eventually drew it into his home before the wintry weather hit. Here is Tina's story.
When does 1 + 1 x 3 = 50? Perhaps it works better as a story problem. If you add a female cat to a male cat, and then multiply the results by three years, how many cats and kittens might you have? Cats are prolific. It's possible for two unaltered cats and their offspring to produce 50 or more kittens in three years.>Enter the super heroes of cat rescue-women. In West Michigan, every cat rescue is headed by a woman. Women also work the frontline-they live-trap cats, transport them for spay/neuter surgeries, provide foster homes, do adoptions, fund-raise, and answer the calls for injured cats, strays and unwanted litters of kittens. In this collection of short stories, you'll learn about women who devote their spare time, sometimes their entire lives, to helping cats. Women like letter carrier Gina Marvin who noticed numerous stray and feral cats on her postal route in a low-income neighborhood in Grand Rapids. She bought a live trap and began trapping. That led her to starting Focus on Ferals, a nonprofit dedicated to cats. Seventeen years later, Gina's still delivering mail, and Focus on Ferals has close to 150 volunteers. They have trapped more than 4,000 cats and found homes for approximately 3,000 cats. Meet the women. Be inspired. Get involved. Become part of the solution to cat overpopulation.
Bestselling author and editor Sandra Murphy has compiled a collection of quotes celebrating all things cat; our furry friends who bring so much joy to our lives.
Gareth Steel wants you to understand vets in a way you never could have before. How it feels to watch a healed dog bound into their owner's arms. The joy of breathing life into the fluid-filled lungs of a newborn calf after a difficult labour. The satisfaction of rescuing a distressed sheep from the high-tide line. What it's like to work 100-hour weeks for less than the minimum wage. How it can scar your soul to euthanize a beloved puppy with its grieving family beside you. The pressure of having to know such a diverse range of medicine, that one hour you can be protecting yourself from a dangerously distressed horse and the next you can be performing delicate surgery on a tiny mouse. How all these pressures have built up to the extent that vets have four times the national suicide rate, and why.Gareth Steel has been a vet for nearly twenty years and has worked all over the UK, across both rural and city practices, dealing with all manner of household pets and farm animals. This is his fascinating raw account of just how involved the job is and the toll the extreme emotions that come with it can take, but it also a heart-warming and often humorous story of the desperate lengths we go to for the love of animals.
