Bag om Let Them Be Not Forgotten
They survived the Great Depression, helped win two world wars, lived
through the birth of the space age, and witnessed the introduction of
the internet. The real- life characters eulogized in this book were special not
because they held prodigious political power or amassed large amounts of
wealth but precisely because they were ordinary. They walked among us largely
unknown but helped shaped and define the American character through the
20th Century. Most were part of what has been called "the greatest generation"
because America reached its greatest zenith during their tenure. Their eulogies,
first delivered at their funerals, offer snippets from their lives which reveal their
character, contributions, personalities, and spiritual strength. These bits and
pieces of their lives are recorded herein that these ordinary but exceptional
people will not be forgotten and that those who walk in their footprints or
stand on their shoulders will be better able to maintain communion with them.
Also contained herein are the Meditations of comfort and hope which the lives
of those profiled cause us to remember.
