John clearly showed how controversial Jesus was, and portrayed the difficulty in convincing those to whom He was sent that He was the Son of God. Yet Jesus' mercy toward women, the blind, and others who were lost is also clearly demonstrated, making John's gospel a magnificent narrative of Jesus' love and grace in action.
