Redefining Empire - Gaurav Thakarar - Bog

Redefining Empireaf Gaurav Thakarar
Bag om Redefining Empire

It is necessary to understand the colonial response in the form of Revolution in order to analyse the various consequences of discrimination in terms of race also. To understand why the people of Asia, Africa and South America have constantly been trying to free themselves from the clutches of imperial power, one should try to know some of the basics of these relationships between an industrial developed country and an underdeveloped country. It is not an accident or a coincident that most of the developed countries are white and almost all the underdeveloped countries are non¿white. Both imperialism and racism are complementary, and they reinforce each other in contemporary world. It is meaningless to continue to define our world in relation to the dynamic of European colonialism or decolonization. In the era of globalization we cannot keep on arguing or analyzing literature using the concepts of margins and centers as a focal point for postcolonial studies. A radical break is needed to come out of the concepts of colonialism and anti-colonialism as today¿s economics, politics, cultures and identities are all better described in terms of ¿transnational¿ networks.
