In Volume 8, Gilgamesh and Kida participate in the Trojan War. They are fighting on the Greek side of the conflict. When they arrive, Achilles has gotten in a fight with Agamemnon. Therefore, he has left the field of battle with his soldiers. He is going to sit back and watch his comrades burn, all because he is angry at the King. Gil enters Achilles's tent in order to try to talk some sense into the guy. The chat doesn't go as planned.
This volume features one of the bloodiest battle of the Iliad. The battle is even more complicated when Gilgamesh uses magic. The Abandons and the Final Boss Gates want to destroy all the magic from the known universe. So, naturally, Gilgamesh's powers draws them to the Battle of Troy in order to further raise the stakes.
