Bag om The Heavenly Twins
""The Heavenly Twins"" is a novel written by Madame Sarah Grand, first published in 1893. The book is a social commentary on the lives of upper-class women in Victorian England. The story follows the lives of two identical twin sisters, Evadne and Helena, who are raised in a wealthy family. Evadne is rebellious, independent and passionate, while Helena is more reserved and traditional. The sisters are forced to conform to society's expectations of women, but Evadne rebels against this and becomes a feminist activist, advocating for women's rights and challenging the patriarchal system. The book explores themes of gender roles, marriage, motherhood, and the double standards that exist for men and women in society. It also delves into the complexities of sisterhood, as the two sisters struggle to reconcile their differences and maintain their bond. ""The Heavenly Twins"" is a groundbreaking work of feminist literature that challenged the status quo of Victorian society and paved the way for future feminist movements.1893.
