Tom the Owl lives alone in a desert in a lone mesquite tree with nary a soul around for company. He doesn't know how he got there, but he stubbornly stays where he is until one day, a long, pink Cadillac convertible whirls by on the dusty road. The car tosses dust all over Tom, and leaves him an accidental gift under his mesquite tree. Tom dusts himself off, then flies down to look the gift over. Well, of course, like so many gifts do, Tom's gift changes him instantly. Tom finally has the urge to leave his old situation and go find love. Out of curiosity, which owls always have, and his extreme loneliness, Tom flies after the pink Caddy. heading towards his new destiny where love might be in the offing at last! 6"x9", 24 pages.
