The Llanymynech Limeworks heritage area is situated in the historic village of Llanymynech with the border between England and Wales running down the middle of the main road through the village.
Llanymynech Limeworks and its quarries have a rich history which can be traced back to the Romans, but ended when the production of quicklime became uneconomical and the advent of the first world war!
