I really enjoyed this book. This book is a quick read with good information. I like the way they presented the skills and topics in a straight forward manner that is not polluted with a lot of nonsense about extra stuff you need to do. The book really is a great reminder to stop and listen and get the obstacles and distractions out of the way. The author did a good job presenting and addressing the issues. I would recommend this book.
This book helped me so much interpersonally, not just with networking. The insights I gained about making, maintaining, and deepening connections gave me a new approach to all types of conversations and relationships (personal and professional). This approach resonated with me a ton and has given me more confidence interpersonally.
Incredibly useful book. There’s no fluff here - the book is packed with advice, personal accounts, and very basic step by step how-to’s for either starting to speak publicly or improving your current speaking career or side gig. Smiley talks about how to get gigs, how to set your rates, and more. And finally, and what spoke to me the most, the book has lots to say about mind management, self-esteem, and other foundational roadblocks that might be holding you back. Highly recommend.
Do not judge a book by it's cover. If I would have done it, I couldn't have gone for the five stars rating. The cover is just ridiculous in my opinion. I'm a human being full with prejudices (working on this one, but it's hard if you tried it yourselves), so I wasn't expecting much. But.. After reading the book, I have to say it really hit the point. Just the idea that we don't really practice social skills as we do with the other skills.. Very practical book, easy to read without any unnecessary filling. Absolutely recommend to people who are not satisfied with their social lives. You'll find out very soon why nobody likes you (and why you don't like them back ;-) ). Looking forward to the audio version.
A great book full of useful advice and practical exercises that work to help improve your public speaking skills. Inspired by performance techniques that actors use Clare helps you cut through many of the fears and navigate around the pitfalls that many of us experience when standing up to speak in front of an audience. Well written and easy to follow - I highly recommend this book.
