Manu Sareen er egentlig, uddannet socialpædagog og politisk aktiv i partiet Alternativet. Indtil 2015 var han medlem af folketinget for Radikale Venstre og minister for flere områder. Men i dag har Manu Sareen en betydningsfuld rolle som forfatter til nogen af de mest fantastiske børnebøger vi har i Danmark, især serien om Nørrebrodrengen Iqbal Farooq og hans tossede og uforudsigelige familie! Selv er Manu Sareen født i Indien, men flyttede med sin familie til Danmark i 1971 - og heldigvis for det! For ellers havde han ikke vundet Orlaprisen i 2008 for debuten "Iqbal Farooq og den sorte pjerrot". To af bøgerne i serien om karismatiske Iqbal er også filmatiseret og har fået tusindevis af forældre og deres børn i biografen til to helt fantastiske familiefilm!
