Embarking on a spiritual path does not mean you can simply throw away your past. Everyone has some sort of trauma, pain, loss or other negative emotions they've held held onto. Many of these emotions have kept you from living the wonderful life you were meant to live. Finding spirituality means you accept your past, and leave it behind you so that your past does not keep reoccurring in your future and so you can truly move forward in life.
