Kansa is not with us physically; his soul is very much alive in the society. The character Andhak represents the soul of Kansa.The second play, Kokua, revolves around Dhamaguda, a tribal village. Kokua is an imaginary, frightful, and mysterious character of the Mahabharata, one of the great epics of India. The Mahabharata of India has many regional versions in different languages. The Kokua anecdote is well described in Sarala Das's Odia Mahabharata. Kokua comes down, when the degree of doubt, disbelief, terror, murder, and anarchy overpowers the world. In the summer of 1864, an entrepreneur built an observation tower just outside the walls of the federal prison at Elmira, New York. He charged 15 cents for citizens to climb the tower and observe the Confederate prisoners below. Ginger cakes and drinks were sold. The venture paid for itself in a matter of weeks. Then winter came. Shortly afterward another observation tower was constructed by another business interest, and competition being what it is, the cost for admission was driven to 10 cents. Business was booming. A generation ago, television entertainment ventured into shock modes regarding outlandish relational turmoil and screams for validation from guests who longed for an escape from anonymity. Audiences laughed at the absurdity, confidently comforted by the normalcy that supposedly governed their lives. But the guests left with the assertion that at least their story made it to the screen. Pivot (noun) A fixed point supporting something which turns or balances or a thing on which something else depends... (American Dictionary) Pivot (verb): to change your opinions, statements, decisions, etc., so that they are different to what they were before: (Cambridge Dictionary) This word, pivot, was around long before COVID-19 hit; but it certainly found more wide-spread acceptance and its use expanded once we were locked down. We are not certain of when it became a world pandemic, and frankly that doesn't matter. It is and it has impacted us tremendously. As I write and edit contributions for this latest book, we are still in a world-wide COVID-19 pandemic. Cities, states, and countries are in lockdown around the globe. Businesses are closed and workers are sitting at home, worried and waiting for it to work its way out (we hope!). Second waves are now hitting. Governments are playing catch up, most having been caught totally unprepared, flat-footed, to lead and to cope with this global emergency. By the time it has worked its way out, millions will die. Not a fun scene, by any means. Also important in this crisis are the long-range economic impacts of that shut down. No travel, little manufacturing, only essential businesses remain open (like groceries, pharmacies, hardware stores, etc.) This is a serious challenge for those of us in business if we want to survive and stay in business over the long-haul. And, we now have the time to work on it! Disruption has changed our lives, both personal and corporate, as we know them! Overnight, businesses have shuttered their doors, laid off their staff, and turned off their lights. Overnight, businesses have had to pivot to survive.Overnight, many workers and leaders have been thrust into the digital, virtually interconnected world. Working from home, in physical isolation, became our new norm. How will we adapt and deal with this new global challenge? The results are yet to be written and evaluated. But it is an exciting time too. Quite simply, we don't know yet. We are making it up as we go along, feeling our way, one day at a time in totally unchartered territories. Some of us had already started down this virtual path of digital connection, collaboration, and creation. For others, just thrust into this digitally changing world, the results remain to be seen. More than ever, we need to work together to find our way in this confusing new world. Suddenly being able to communicate, connect, and even conduct business in a virtual environment has become exceedingly important, even critical. We have had to mentally pivot to explore new ways to do all these important actions. I admit, I was a bit depressed when international engagements keep being postponed, canceled, or moved on-line. I had to get my mindset in adjustment that 'even though I was not able to travel, my ideas could', and they have. Like many of my speaking and training colleagues, I am exploring different ways to continue to deliver solid value to my clients - digital ways to connect, educate, and engage. My commitment to help my clients is as strong as ever, stronger, just the delivery methods have changed. This is a very real challenge for our business owners, sales professionals, and many who were sent home, or are now working from home face every day. Many are looking at making a pivot to a new job or career as their previous one evaporated and will most likely not return, even when COVID-19 is under control.

Mais l'arrivée d'une poule faisane bouleverse sa vie, lui révélant l'amour, de telle sorte qu'il en oublie de chanter. L'astre du jour étant cependant apparu, Chantecler devient la risée de tous les animaux domestiques et sauvages, et surtout des hiboux, créatures de la nuit qui le détestent, et le contraignent à accepter un combat public avec un autre coq. Le combat se déroule dans le salon littéraire de la Pintade. Vainqueur après avoir frôlé la mort, Chantecler défend alors la basse-cour contre les menaces d'un épervier et recouvre ainsi une part de son prestige. Injustement délaissée, mais comprenant que chez le coq la vanité est plus forte que l'amour, la faisane se sacrifie néanmoins pour lui et se porte à sa place au-devant d'un chasseur. Un coup part, mais c'est le rossignol à la voix d'or qui est blessé à mort. Le chant rauque du coq continuera seul à célébrer l'aube.

Cyrano de Bergerac est l'une des pièces les plus populaires du théâtre français, et la plus célèbre de son auteur, Edmond Rostand. Librement inspirée de la vie et de l'¿uvre de l'écrivain libertin Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac (1619-1655), elle est représentée pour la première fois le 28 décembre 1897, au Théâtre de la Porte-Saint-Martin, à Paris.La pièce est difficile à jouer : elle fait intervenir un grand nombre de personnages, elle est longue, le rôle titre est particulièrement imposant (plus de 1600 vers), les décors sont très différents d'un acte à l'autre et elle comporte une scène de bataille. Le succès en était si peu assuré qu'Edmond Rostand lui-même, redoutant un échec, se confondit en excuses auprès de l'acteur Coquelin, le jour de la générale, pour l'avoir entraîné dans une pareille aventure . La suite des évènements démentit les craintes de l'auteur : ce fut un triomphe; non seulement la représentation fut saluée par vingt minutes ininterrompues d'applaudissements, mais le ministre des Finances Georges Cochery vint dans la loge épingler sa propre Légion d'honneur sur la poitrine de l'auteur en expliquant : Je me permets de prendre un peu d'avance. Rostand reçut en effet officiellement la décoration quelques jours plus tard, le 1er janvier 1898...
