Convoy Buddy CB Truckers Klub, blev stiftet i Maj 1978, og havde i starten kun til formål at samle danske truckere, med fælles interesse for CB-Radioer. Klubben avancerede ret hurtigt til at blive landets største, og senere startede klubben de store Trucker-Jamboree med Europas største udstillinger. Klubbens størrelse gjorde dem i stand til at sætte politisk dagsorden, og dermed give chaufførerne bedre vilkår. Vi følger klubbens opstart og de første 10 år af dens eksistens.Når de ”gamle” chauffører, stopper med at kører, slutter en epoke i dansk transport, og sammen med dem, forsvinder en mængde gode historier som under ingen omstændighed er blevet ringere efter at være blevet fortalt flere gange. Dem som kun læser historierne vil sige det er løgn - men dem som var med vil grine og få genoplivet gamle minder om en svunden tid.Bogen indeholder originale tekster fra klubbens klubblade, og historier som er skrevet af medlemmerne – man må derfor ikke forvente at læsestilen er ensartet.

I Stautrup sydvest for Aarhus grundlagde Rasmus Skaarup i 1906 et karetmagerværksted, der over årene udviklede sig til Stautrup Karosserifabrik. Oprindeligt var det reparation og bygning af hestekøretøjer, som værkstedet beskæftigede sig med, men omkring 1920 blev det fremstillingen af karrosserier til busser, vare- og lastvogne, der dominerede produktionen. I årene herefter blev fabrikken løbende udvidet, men besættelsen i 1940 satte en stopper for udviklingen. I årene efter 1945 kom der igen gang i hjulene, og det var for det meste busser, fabrikken herefter beskæftigede sig med at bygge. I 1950'erne blev fabrikken igen udvidet, og flere nye produktionsmetoder holdt sit indtog. Op gennem 1960'erne blev konkurrencen skærpet for produktion af buskarrosserier, men Stautrup Karosserifabrik holdt skansen ved at begynde at bygge bogbusser, ligesom man optog en nicheproduktion med ombygning af kassevogne til minibusser. Udover opbyggervirksomheden har fabrikken også udført reparationsarbejder og klargøring af busser. I 1990'erne blev konkurrencen hårdere og hårdere, og den lille virksomhed havde ingen muligheder for at rationalisere produktionen yderligere. Og i efteråret 2002 besluttede Rasmus Skaarups efterkommere at lukke virksomheden. Hvor virksomheden i Stautrup lå, er der i dag (2015) bygget rækkehuse og intet afslører, at der i næsten 100 år lå en karrosserifabrik på stedet.
