Yotam Ottolenghi. er en britisk-israelske stjernekok. Han er en af vor tids mest talentfulde kokke og madskribenter, og han refereres ofte til at have været en af de bærende kræfter ift. at have revolutioneret den britiske madkultur. Selvom Ottolenghis har haft stor succes på den gastronomiske scene, lå det dog ikke i kortene, at han ville ende med at være blandt den gastronomiske elites absolutte top!Han er barn af en jødisk-tysk lærerinde og en jødisk-italiensk universitetsprofessor, og derfor var der store forventninger til at Ottolenghi skulle gå den akademiske vej. Denne vej startede han også på, da han brillerede på en akademiskuddannelse og blev i 1995 optaget på en særlig bachelor- og kandidatgrad ved Tel Aviv University som udelukkende var forbeholdt de allerdygtigste studerende.
