Bag om Farmer Field School: A Hub for Transfer of Technology
It enriches the farmers with state of the art of practical knowledge by ¿going down to the field¿ concept. Change in knowledge of crop production of the participants after attending FFS, was remarkable. At the end of FFS, farmers opined that Trichoderma application in nursery and main field was the best component have learn. They also preferred the use of bio-insecticides, botanicals, various traps and cultural practices. Regarding the economics of FFS, it was revealed that there was increase in returns and decrease in costs and the BCR was higher in the FFS farmers compared to Non-FFS farmers. The change in attitudes towards different aspects was at a satisfactory level by the FFS farmers. The findings of the success stories revealed that the attitude of the farmers towards crop production changed significantly and it benefitted him economically leading to a better livelihood. The major constrains was inadequate financial support, lack of external trainers in the release of fund and lack of delegate of authority.
